Percent in Market for same-day trades

Postby Jaded » Sun Jul 03, 2011 1:44 am

Does the current logic for calculating Percent in Market take into account trades that occur on the same day (Bought and Sold on the same day)? I am testing out a system now using limits and it creates some same-day trades.. I have a feeling that my percent in market calculation is much lower than it really is, due to all of those trades not being counted as "1", because the holding days is 0.. Does this make sense, and am I correct in my findings?

Thank you!

You are correct. Percent In Market is based on overnight holdings, so a position will not be counted if it is bought and sold on the same day.
