Version 4.1.21 Released

An upgrade to Version 4.1.21 is now available, containing a number of important fixes to the latest release. The following primary changes were made:

* Ensure sequence numbers increase by priority during Create Signal. When using the Create Signal option by right-clicking on a Combination Result, the system identification (#1, #2, #3, etc) was being generated according to the order in which the system was created. This often caused an odd order, where the 3rd system might have an identifier of #4 in the name. This has now been changed so that the identifiers will be generated according to the strategy priority order.

* Correct obscure error when calculating commissions per share. In some very rare cases, an inability to calculate the commissions per share had produced an error and terminated a search. This scenario has now been resolved.

* Fix error in Create Signal when the name contains a # character. In cases where a strategy name contained a '#' character, right-clicking on a Combination Result with that name and selecting Create Signal could cause StrataSearch to lockup. This has now been corrected.

* Fix custom calculations on Detailed Analysis Summary tab. In rare cases, a custom column calculation on the Summary tab of the Detailed Analysis could result in zero instead of the proper calculation. This has now been corrected.

* Fix opening of charts from Detailed Analysis to locate symbol. In some cases, double-clicking on a trade in the Trades tab of a Detailed Analysis could bring up the incorrect symbol. This was due to a value in memory not initializing to zero on some computers. This has now been corrected.

* Update AutoSearch Setup to show Include 0 when Always is selected. On the Primary tab of the AutoSearch Setup, the "Include From x to y" settings are disabled. However, these were always showing from 1 to 1, which is not technically correct if one of the Primary trading rules had been checked for 'Always'. The "Include From" settings will now show "from 0 to 0" if a trading rule is configured for 'Always'.

* Add $index1, $index2, $index3 capabilities to charts. The $index macros are setup on the Setups > Trade Settings menu, General tab. These can be used in Trading Rule setups to reference an external symbol, while still allowing that symbol to be changed in just one place for all trading rules. The use of the $index macros had not been available in the Charts, but this has now been added.

* Change Results button on Processor to default to both Long & Short. When clicking the Results button on the Processor, the Combination Results Listing had opened by default to "Long Positions Only". This has now been revised to default to "Both Long and Short Positions".

* Expand number of decimals displayed on Futures Product Setup to 6. The Futures Product Setups had been limited to 4 decimal positions for the Minimum Tick value. This has now been expanded to 6 decimal positions.

* Enhance Create Signal to set proper Portfolio Size for OneClicks. Right-clicking on a result in the Combination Results Listing and selecting Create Signal has always defaulted to setup with a Portfolio Size of 10. This has now been enhanced for results produced by OneClick Searches to use the Portfolio Size used in the search.

* Revised processing to clean painting in Windows Vista. Windows Vista often creates some painting problems in StrataSearch. While some of these remain, some have also been cleaned up with this release.

* Correct Processor Progress to hit 100% in Windows Vista. Windows Vista contains a limitation where a progress bar cannot go from 0 to 100% in less than 1 second. The result has been that the Progress bar in the Processor never gets past about 50% in many searches on small sectors. After all this time, a workaround was finally discovered by another developer. The progress bar can now hit 100% for Windows Vista users.

* Added ability to set custom portfolio size for Signals. In the Version 4.1 release, the ability to back test with a custom portfolio size (over 20) was added. The ability to use a custom portfolio size has now been expanded to the Signal Setups and the Daily Signals Listing.

* Added ability to set custom portfolio size in Portfolio Manager. In addition to the Signal Setups, the ability to set a custom portfolio size has also been added to the Portfolio Manager.

To install the program update, users can use the Help > Check for Updates menu from within StrataSearch. If any problems are encountered using this method, users may alternately download and run a manual upgrade from:
