Version 4.1.7 Released

An upgrade to Version 4.1.7 is now available, containing a number of important fixes to the latest release. The following primary changes were made:

* Switch to alternate memory model to correct out-of-memory errors. Users on some Windows versions, such as servers or Vista Business models, had been receiving out-of-memory errors after running searches for an extended period. This has been due to memory fragmentation within the operating system, and the inability of Windows to find the necessary contiguous memory allocations. To solve this, StrataSearch has been converted to an alternate memory allocation method, where this should no longer be an issue. This has been tested significantly on numerous machines, but let us know if you discover any new memory issues.

* Prevent Walk-Forward Analysis continuation upon error. Previously, a formula error found when running a walk-forward analysis would terminate the interval but continue immediately into the next interval. This has now been corrected so that the entire walk-forward analysis will terminate in such a situation.

* Set Sector Update to display all symbols instead of only selected. When entering the Setups > Sector Setups menu and updating a setup, the Filter setting would be set to display 'Selected' by default. To prevent confusion, this has now been changed to 'Show All' by default. Users can change the Filter to 'Selected' if desired.

* Turn on User Surveys to gather helpful information from users. User Surveys had temporarily been turned off during implementation of Version 4.0. They have now been turned back on, but will not be repeated on machines that have already provided responses.

To install the program update, users can use the Help > Check for Updates menu from within StrataSearch. If any problems are encountered using this method, users may alternately download and run a manual upgrade from:
