An upgrade to Version 4.0.924 is now available, containing a number of important fixes to the latest release. The following primary changes were made:

* Allow evaluation and display of negative Compound Annual Returns. Due to the theoretical problem of "reinvesting losses", the Compound Annual Return (CpdAnnReturn) value in StrataSearch has always displayed as NA when the Annual Return has been negative. Internally, this value has been carried as zero. However, when running a OneClick Search, this default value of 0 was not properly reflecting the difference between large and small losses. For this reason, the Compound Annual Return will now be calculated and displayed, even if the Annual Return is negative. Users will need to rerun their Detailed Analysis to create the non-zero value.

* Revision to Recovery Factor to formally handle negative returns. In addition to the Compound Annual Return mentioned above, the Recovery Factor was also displaying as NA when the Net Return was negative. This has now been updated to the traditional use of this value, which is the absolute value of the net profit divided by the maximum drawdown of unrealized equity.

* Initialize new OneClick Setups with Available Dates. When creating a new OneClick Setup, the Start and End Dates had both been initializing to the first Available Date. This has now been ajusted to initialize to the first and last Available Dates.

* Allow alternate products to be included in Sector Imports. Previously, StrataSearch has always restricted Sector Imports to include only stock products. This was to prevent Index symbols from being included in Sectors. Now that StrataSearch fully supports multiple products, this restriction has been lifted, and symbols from any products can now be imported into Sectors.

* Speed Boost when running Alternate Data and Parm Shift tests. A number of revisions were made within the OneClick Search to run only the portions of Alternate Data and Parameter Shift tests that are absolutely necessary. This has resulted in a considerable speed boost when running these evaluations in a OneClick Search.

* Ignore tab characters when importing Sectors via ASCII import. When Importing Sectors with a Source Type of ASCII, some symbol lists originally created in tab-delimited files may contain trailing tab characters following the symbols. This had been preventing StrataSearch from recognizing the symbols. A change has been made to ignore tab characters in this case, which should prevent such problems down the road.

To install the program update, beta users can use the Help > Check for Updates menu from within StrataSearch Version 4.0. If any problems are encountered using this method, users may alternately download and run a manual upgrade from:
